A look back at Notts BGT auditionees

Britain's Got Talent has been on our screens for ten years now and residents of Nottinghamshire have worked hard to impress the judges.

Here is a few of the contestants that captured our hearts.

Back in 2014 there was former Kirkby resident Lucy Kay, who stole the show in its eighth year as she told of how she was bullied for her love of classical music at school.

Lucy moved to Glasgow where she found happiness but her love of classical music still shone through at her audition on the ITV Saturday night prime time talent show.

She wowed judges with her performance of Vissi D’arte and made it all the way through to the final where she finished in second place after a rendition of Nessun Dorma.

She has since had a number one album and is now starring in the touring production of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, which will run until July.

Carrying the classical flag for Nottinghamshire the next year were six brothers and sisters known as The Kanneh Masons who surprised judges with the harmonious performance, however they were eliminated in the semi-finals.

Also in 2015, an anti-bullying group from Nottinghamshire took to the stage. The charity Combat Bullying sent 21 youngsters who had suffered at the hands of bullies to perform on TV to tell their tale of how bullying affects people.
