£5,000 Mansfield Woodhouse fraudster could be locked up

A HARD-UP Mansfield Woodhouse agent for a finance company could be locked up for fraud.

Laura George was employed by South Normanton’s Shopacheck Financial Services to collect payments and set up new loans for existing customers.

But she arranged five loans for herself in their names, magistrates at Chesterfield were told last Wednesday.

George (35) had taken out £2,009-worth of loans that amounted to £5,417 when interest and administration charges were added on.

George, of Vallance Street, admitted five charges of fraud between March and May. The justices committed her to be dealt with by a judge at Derby Crown Court on 13th July.

“There were rent arrears and the risk of eviction,” said Jon Barber, in mitigation.
