A lantern workshop is taking place this weekend at Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve as part of this week’s leisure listings in Nottinghamshire.
The sessions take place on Saturday from 10.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30 to 3.30pm. People can transform willow and tissue into a special lantern to hang in the garden to light the way for Santa this Christmas!
Children must be accompanied by an adult. Places are limited so pre-booking is essential by calling 01623 823202 and costs £5 per lantern.
It is also the last few days of Santa’s grottos at Nottinghamshire County Council’s country parks as Christmas approaches.
Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve has a Santa’s Grotto with a difference this weekend. Set in the heart of the Robin Hood visitor centre is a St Nicholas grotto where children can get to meet Santa and give him their Christmas wish in exchange for a gift.
And there is a Christmas grotto at Rufford Abbey Country Park which will take place this weekend and next Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
