Grab your bucket and spade to sample the seaside in Mansfield town centre this summer.
Starting on Monday, August 10, a sandy beach will open on Market Place every day for the rest of the month.
Organised by Mansfield BID in partnership with Food for all Seasons, BID manager Sarah Nelson said: “Children, and their parents, can feel the sand between their toes whilst enjoying building castles and playing in the sand.
“Or you can bring along a picnic to eat on the beachside decking. The children can have lots of free fun whilst you relax and have a minute.”
The event proved a success last year and weather permitting, there are hopes it could exceed expectations once again.
Coun Stewart Rickersey, portfolio holder for corporate services at Mansfield District Council, said: “The beach will be a big draw for local families so this would be a great trading opportunity for stallholders.
“We hope some seasonal stalls will take up these spaces which will help to bring a real flavour of summer to Mansfield town centre.”
