LETTER: It’s time for hospital visitors to clean up their act

Last Monday I went to pick up a friend from King’s Mill Hospital as he had an eye operation. I parked the car at the entrance to the hospital and he was sitting down waiting.

There are now two hand dispensers on the walk into this building, which you cannot miss, but I think most of the people going in were going to the same ward as my friend had been to because only a few washed their hands at these machines.

We read and hear of illness that the people get while in hospital, is that the fault of the staff or these people who do not wash their hands on entering, bringing disease to those they are visiting and also their dress, work clothes, dirty boots, shoes, this must not be a healthy way of getting those loved ones back to health.
