ProHelp gives groups free access to professional services but its European Regional Development Fund financial backing is ending in September.

Jennie Street, of Rhubarb Farm, at Langwith, said: “I can’t say enough how grateful we are to ProHelp for excellent professional support. It’s a great programme for the likes of us, struggling to deliver services that will eventually make a positive difference to people’s lives.”

Rhubarb Farm uses horticulture to provide work, training and volunteering for the unemployed and those with health and learning difficulties.

ProHelp managed to secure planners and surveyors to help Rhubarb Farm.

The scheme now needs £50,000 a year to keep running and it has launched an appeal for community-conscious Derbyshire firms to become signed-up ProHelp members.

Firms will be able to support ProHelp by paying between £100 and £1,000 to become registered supporters and help provide free services. Donations are also welcome.

Those wishing to support ProHelp are urged to contact Lisa Richards at [email protected] and (01332) 826805.
