Langwith man kicked pub door

A FAILED bid for late drinks ended in a boozy Langwith man kicking in a pub door, Chesterfield magistrates were told.

Staff at The Gate in Shirebrook were clearing up after midnight when a group of six men turned up outside wanting to be served.

Police had to be called and saw on CCTV that Ashley Dockwray kicked in a locked door.

Dockwray (20), of North Street, Langwith, admitted damaging a door frame and lock on 12th December and breaching a suspended prison sentence.

Sentence was adjourned until today, 19th January, for probation service reports.

Joe Harvey, for Dockwray, said: “The following day he went round to see the landlord and apologise and pay for the damage to be repaired.”

Assault charge

A SHUTTLEWOOD couple had to flee their own home when their son turned violent, Chesterfield magistrates were told last Wednesday. Richard Mason was at his parents’ address in Woodthorpe Close on 13th December when a row blew up about his drinking. Mason (42), formerly of Woodthorpe Close, and now living in Kent, admitted assault and was bailed for probation reports.
