Knife held to cabbie’s neck

A taxi driver was robbed with a knife after stopping to pick up a passenger on the A611.

The cab was travelling towards Annesley from the direction of the A608 roundabout just after noon on Friday 25th October.

When the driver stopped to pick up a man from near the Forest Lodge, a derelict building set back from the road, he was threatened and robbed.

The man, who is described as having a north-east accent, got into the taxi and asked to go to Mansfield but after a short distance, the passenger told him to turn into Coxmoor Road. He then put something sharp against the driver’s neck and forced him to pull over.

He stole cash from the driver before running away along Coxmoor Road in the direction of Ravenshead.

The man is described as white, about 24 to 27-years-old and between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins tall. He is of a medium build and was wearing a dark, long-sleeved top with the hood up, dark jeans and bright, new looking white trainers.
