A Kirkby medical centre, which celebrated its fifth anniversary earlier this year, has been presented with the Excellence in General Practice Award.
Kirkby Community Primary Care Centre, based at Ashfield Health Village, picked up the award at an event organised by the Nottinghamshire Local Medical Committee.
Staff from the centre received their award by Nottinghamshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner for Nottinghamshire at a ceremony which took place at the East Midlands Conference Centre on 5th July.
Anita Dixon is CEO of Central Nottinghamshire Clinical Services, the organisation which runs the centre.
She said: “CNCS are very proud of what we have achieved and this is down to the dedication and commitment of the staff at the Kirkby Community Primary Care Centre and their commitment to excellent patient care – well done.”
The awards formed part of a centenary ball which celebrated 100 years of the Nottinghamshire Local Medical Committee and its role of supporting and representing GPs.
The health centre serves around 5,100 patients in the area.
