KARA meeting about Mowlands

KARA - the Kirkby Area Residents Association - is holding a meeting on Tuesday to discuss plans for the Mowlands development on land west of Kirkby.

A planning application for the development has now been submitted to Ashfield District Council by Westerman Homes.

The application is to build 1,800 homes plus a relief road and 12 acres of employment land on open countryside land.

The meeting is taking place at the Bentinck Miners’ Welfare at 7.30 p.m.

KARA chairman Mike Slack has been fighting against development on the land for years.

He said: “It is crucial that residents attend this meeting to make their views heard over this huge development which will change the face of the countryside to west Kirkby forever.”
