It involved walking, running, cycling, swimming or rowing to meet the 7,000 miles -the distance from the English andAfghan capitals.
“It was difficult to startwith but when we got into it I really enjoyed it,” said Marion, who managed 1,150 miles andTerri 800.
The group took on the challenge as part of their fundraising for service personnel charities. Marion is involved in the Mansfield Heroes’ Memorial Fund and collects cash for Help for Heroes.
“We decided to give this money to the Homes for Heroes scheme, which has been set up to provide homes for people who leave the services,” said Marion.
The team also took part in the Mansfield Heroes’ Memorial Fund annual walk from Crich to Mansfield last month.
Marion added: “So far we have collected about £1,500 in pledges and we now need to collect the cash. We are delighted with this total and thank everyone who supported us throughout the challenge.”
