Step onboard for an enchanted journey into a world of fantasy as Crich Tramway Village holds its Alice in Woodland Event on Sunday and Monday.
Based on the Lewis Carroll books of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, the journey starts with a tram ride to the Woodland Walk to pass though the looking glass into Alice in Woodland. Help Alice find her way though the Woodland, avoiding “eat me” cake and “drink me” bottles. Talk to the live flower garden; meet the caterpillar on his toadstool and Tweedledum and Tweedledee. Plus many more faces you may recognise.
Interact with the characters and challenge the Red King and Queen to a game of chess or croquet or relax with a cup of tea at the Mad Hatters Tea Party. Maybe help the poor card paint the white roses red. It promises to be a fun and memorable day for all the family!
Event organiser Ron Langoise said: “The Woodland Walk is a perfect location for the Alice in Wonderland themed event. There will be lots of familiar characters from the books around every corner. The August Bank Holiday Sunday and Monday is also our annual Transport Extravaganza.
“There will be hundreds of vehicles on display and on the move. Everything from classic sports cars and motorcycles, double deck buses and even steam traction engines. There will also be lots of trade stands to browse around.”
