Mansfield town centre will have an Italian flavour this Easter weekend as the Mamma Mia Italian market heads into town.
Mamma Mia specialises in offering a taste of southern Italy, bringing a wide range of food, products and crafts in a Mediterranean atmosphere.
There will be a good choice of traditional Italian food on sale, such as pastas sauces, cheeses, olive oils, vinegars and a huge variety of deserts and sweet treats from the different regions of Italy.
The only food produce not to come direct from Italy is the bread which is made at an Italian bakery in London
Products such as jewellery form Venice and Italian leathers will also be on sale alongside craft stalls.
Mamma Mia Italian Market will take place in the Mansfield Market Place on Good Friday 22nd April, Saturday 23rd April and Easter Monday 25th April.
The event has been organised by Mansfield District Council as part of its bank holiday bonanza line-up of entertainment in late April and May.
Also on Easter Saturday, to mark St George’s Day, a medieval Knight and his serf will be in the Market Place to meet and greet shoppers.
On Royal Wedding Day (Friday 29th April) there’s a giant screen in the Market Place showing live pictures from the big day at Westminster Abbey, plus a march past by the Mansfield unit of the Territorial Army and a Wacky Races box kart race!
And on Bank Holiday Monday, 2nd May a Blues Brother Tribute Act will be shaking a tail feather! There’ll also be children’s rides and the Honey Pot craft fair market.
