HUTHWAITE Library is set to be closed to the public for up to 10 weeks after its roof collapsed.
Book lovers in the area are now being directed to Skegby and Sutton libraries after the incident, which happened in the staff room. It was discovered by staff when they opened the library after the weekend on 12th September.
It is not certain what time the roof collapsed because it was not during opening hours.
Bosses at Nottinghamshire County Council say it is unclear what caused the collapse and are waiting for a detailed report.
A council spokesman said: “We are also looking at providing a limited service from a mobile unit at Huthwaite itself with dates still to be confirmed.”
Customers are reminded that they can renew their books online, at any other county library or by calling 08449 808080.
