This was the last of four fun days held at the park over the summer and a whopping 400 children attended, taking advantage of the free activities on offer.

These included craft sessions, a climbing wall, a bouncy castle, face painting and many different kinds of games. There were also information stands and activities for parents.

Said Anna Wilson, from the action group: “This year we have had so many more people than we normally have.

“We are growing by about 20 per cent a year and have had more than 4,000 people coming down. We have done fantastically.”

A number of local companies and organisations also attend the events and lend their support through funding, having stands and providing things to do.

The action group works hard to raise around £6,000 throughout the year so it can put on the completely free of charge events for families from Huthwaite and beyond.
