Huthwaite accident blackspot claims latest victim

A renowned accident blackspot has claimed its latest victim following another crash today, Monday 23rd June, in Huthwaite.

A motorist was taken to hospital after a crash on Chesterfield Road at around 1pm.

It is thought two vehicles collided close to the crossroads, which is next to a Co-op store.

A man was taken to hospital via ambulance although it is unknown what his condition is.

The notorious stretch of hit the headlines following series of accidents. This is the fifth in recent months.

Earlier this month two men were hospitalised after their car left the road and went off a bridge before plunging through trees down an embankment.

A council spokesman said they were aware the problems and a scheme was planned to upgrade the road surface and signage in the area.
