This annual feature has been under the organisation of the Hucknall club since the Second World War and was originally ran by the Whist Club back in the 1920s.

The former Hucknall Dispatch Editor (and founding Hucknall rotarian) Henry Morley, was a keen supporter of the event and even left a legacy to ensure its continuation.
