MANSFIELD rockers Roger The Mascot will go up against five other unsigned bands for a slot in a major European music festival.

The band hope performing at Croatia’s INmusic will expose their material to a much larger audience.

Mascot were chosen by UK festival travel company Eufest for their spot after beating hundreds of other contenders.

Bass player Matthew King said: “we have truly worked our socks off, with almost 70 shows around the UK already under our belt including the final of the UK battle of the bands, last years Y-Not Festival and also the grand final of The OpenMicUK Competition at the O2 Arena in London.”

Roger The Mascot describe their sound as an authentic and infectious brand of indie rock.

If the Mansfield lads win in Leamington they could be playing alongside the likes of Iggy and the Stooges, NOFX, Editors, Arctic Monkeys and Bloc Party.

The band are keen to rally their fans to come along and support their show at the live final of the All About The Music competition at The Assembly, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, on 25th April at 7pm.

Tickets are available from www.eufest.com and cost £3 per person.
