Residents in the Hilcote area are being invited to a special information meeting with the police and Neighbourhood Watch.

The event will take place between 10am and 11am on Monday, December 9 at Hilcote Community Centre on New Street.

Officers from the Tibshelf Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team, which covers the Hilcote area, will be on hand to speak to residents about local issues.

There will also be a chance to meet your Neighbourhood Watch street co-ordinator and find out more information.

PC Lorna Evans of the Tibshelf Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “The event has been set up for people to come along and find out more about the benefits of Neighbourhood Watch and to give existing members a chance to meet up.

“Our local residents and Neighbourhood Watch members are the eyes and ears of the community and we hope that by forging closer links and raising awareness of crime that we will improve communications which could in turn help reduce crime and the fear of crime.”

For more information about the event or about Neighbourhood Watch in the Tibshelf, Newton, Blackwell and Hilcote area please contact the Tibshelf Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101, the non-emergency number for Derbyshire police.
