A GROUP of walkers are set to take on a gruelling charity challenge to raise money for Chad’s brand new charity.

The Mansfield and Ashfield Hiking Group will head to the Peak District on 21st September for a energy-sapping 26 miles in aid of the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.

Chad is pledging to support by the life-saving charity by helping to raise a mammoth £300,000 over the next 12 months to keep them flying in Nottinghamshire.

Each mission costs £1,000 with the charity receiving no Government funding.

John Bamford, who is a group member, said: “We are all keen hikers and we wanted to do something for charity.

“We put our heads together and decided to support this appeal because it is something we all felt strongly about.

“We now want to get as many people involved as possible and to raise as much money as we can for the charity.

Sponsorship forms are on show in the Acacia Community Centre on Acacia Avenue in Annesley Woodhouse.
