Reach for new magazine for families with disabled children

The latest Reach magazine for families with disabled children is out now

The Derbyshire County Council publication, which comes out twice a year, has 20 pages of interviews, news items and much more.

Among other things Reach has:

* An article about the pressures of being a carer and how they can get a bit of support themselves

* All the latest on Aiming High for Disabled Children – a vital service which helps Derbyshire families enjoy short breaks

* A feature about a popular group called Siblings which helps Derbyshire young people with severely disabled brothers and sisters to enjoy fun days out.

Coun Barry Lewis, Derbyshire County Council’s cabinet member for young people, said: “The latest edition of Reach has been put together to help families with disabled children better understand the services that are available to them.

“It’s packed with useful information including a two-page directory of contacts which many parents and carers find really handy.

“We urge anyone who has a disabled child to get hold of a copy or check it out online.”

The magazine can be picked up from every county council library or your local children’s centre.

It’s also online at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/reach

Alternatively, phone Call Derbyshire on 08456 058 058 or 01629 533190 for a copy.
