Raising money for Chad’s MRI Scanner Appeal at WS Ingham Funeral Directors

MOURNERS are being invited to remember their loved ones and help raise money for Chad’s MRI Scanner Appeal.

Forest Town-based WS Ingham Funeral Directors are asking customers to place loving messages on their annual ‘Tree of Light’, with donations going to Chad’s life-changing campaign.

Darren Straw, funeral director, said: “We choose a charity every year and like to keep it local. Last year we raised money for John Eastwood Hospice and we thought the MRI Appeal was another good local cause.

“We have a Christmas tree in our reception and invite customers to put a tag which we send out on the tree.”

So far more than £131,000 has been raised for Chad’s ambitious appeal, which aims to raise £750,000 to help King’s Mill Hospital purchase a state-of-the-art MRI scanner.

The campaign, launched on 27th June, has seen the Mansfield and Ashfield community come together to organise a variety of fundraising events, including restaurant and pub charity nights, sponsoredd marathons, garden parties and raffle events.

If you have a story or are doing a fundraising event for our MRI Scanner Appeal, get in touch with Stephen Thirkill on 01623 450292, by emailing stephen.thirkill@chad.co.uk or via Twitter @StephenThirkill.
