An Ollerton woman has been named the Ollerton Slimming World woman of the year after losing more than four stone in just 18 months.
Joanne Morris, 23, says she feels like a “new woman” since the weight loss and will now go forward for the national title, which aims to find the top slimmer in the UK and Ireland.
She said: “When I started out I never dreamt I’d be able to achieve all that I have.
“Losing the weight has made such a huge difference – it’s changed my life.
“I feel like a winner already, so being voted the Ollerton group’s woman of the year is just the icing on the cake.”
The competition aims to recognise the achievements of people making long-term healthy lifestyle changes, as around one in four women in the UK and Ireland are severely overweight and at risk of suffering a range of health problems including diabetes, heart disease and cancer.
Lisa, who runs the Ollerton group, said: “I’m so proud of Joanne. Not only does she look fabulous, she’s improved her health and is bursting with energy.
The national competition will be announced in November and the winner will take home a £3,000 cash prize.
