Local people are being invited to stand as governors and help shape healthcare services at King’s Mill and Mansfield Community hospitals.
Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust currently has four vacancies for public governors in Mansfield and two at Ashfield.
Governors play an important role in holding the trust accountable for the services it provides, as well as helping it deliver quality care to local communities.
They also hold non-executive directors to account for the performance of the board and represent the interests of trust members and the public.
Sean Lyons, trust chairman, said: “Governors play a key role in making sure the views of our members are represented to the board of directors and are taken into account when decisions are made.
“We very much value their input, as they help us ensure that our patients and staff are at the heart of everything we do.
“If you would like to get more involved in shaping healthcare services in your local community please put yourself forward as a public Governor.”
An event will be held for anyone interested in becoming a governor on Monday, 18th August.
People can meet current governors, ask questions about the role and find out more about the election process.
The event will held in classroom 1, level 1 at King’s Mill Hospital from 4pm to 6pm.
