Health chiefs are to recall more than 22,000 patients who may have been treated by a dentist in Nottinghamshire.

The recall by NHS England is believed to be the biggest ever in British medical history.

It is understood patients will be tested for a range of blood-borne diseases.

More details about the recall are to be disclosed at a news conference in Mansfield this morning (Wednesday).

Reports in today’s national media suggest that the dentist worked for more than 32 years in the Nottingham area.

There will be more updates on this story throughout the morning.
