ORGANISATIONS in Ashfield can bid for funding for enterprise projects that will boost the economy in Ashfield, Mansfield and Bassetlaw.

There is £3.14million available for projects in Ashfield, along with £2.76m for Mansfield and £3.05m for Bassetlaw.

The funds are provided by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and can be used to:

l Stimulate and support new markets and enterprise opportunities

l Provide resources and support to develop the economy within local communities

l Revive infrastructure and environments

l Develop employment sites and premises.

Cash is given to regeneration projects promoted by public sector organisations like Government departments, local authorities, further and higher education establishments and voluntary groups.

Grants are not generally given to profit-making private sector companies, although sometimes small and medium-sized businesses may receive one.

Private companies can apply when working in partnership with a public sector organisation.
