AN elderly couple and their granddaughter were led to safety through their back garden after a blaze wrecked their Ollerton home early on Sunday morning.

The famnily were taken to safety by neighbours before fire and ambulance crews arrived at the scene at The Markhams, where the house was well alight.

The alert had been raised at just before 6am and the family were taken to hospital.

Fire crews from Tuxford, Retford and Mansfield - together with the Mansfield aerial ladder platform - attended the incident.
