Mansfields across the world are gearing up for an clean-up of global proportions.
International Clean Up Mansfield Day could see six name-sake towns across America and Australia tidy up their towns on Wednesday, 2nd April.
Last year, more than 30 groups across our district, and one in Mansfield Park, South Australia, helped tidy up their area in the world at last year’s inaugural clean-up.
For our very own Mansfield, more than 200 bags of rubbish were collected in a day and the unique event won an award from the national Keep Britain Tidy campaign.
The Corner House Care Home was the first group to sign up for this year’s event, while Meden Vale’s Eastlands Junior School, and Asda at Forest Town, has pledged support.
As well as litter picks, people are encouraged to get creative and take part in projects that will improve the environment in the long-term.
