SHIREBROOK residents who want to help their communities get fitter and healthier can attend a volunteering course at Kissingate Leisure Centre on 19th February.
Derbyshire’s Community Sports Trust wants to recruit a pair of part-time, paid co-ordinators to help develop new opportunities for people to take up jogging.
The trust has been awarded a contract to manage the ‘Jog Derbyshire’ project on behalf of Derbyshire Sport.
Community Sports Trust board member Hayley Lever said: “We’re confident our new Jog Derbyshire co-ordinators will complement our team and be able to help even more Derbyshire people both in towns and rural communities get fitter, healthier and find friends through sport.”
The event in Shirebrook will take place from 8.45am-5pm. The cost of the course is currently £90 but for details on bursaries available visit www.activederbyshire.co.uk/jog/Courses
