Generous shoppers at the Four Seasons Shopping Centre in Mansfield raised an outstanding amount of money for the local Samaritans in the run up to Christmas.
Shoppers raised £2,567.93 for the suicide prevention charity, which encourages people to talk to them in confidence about any concerns they may have.
Volunteers helped shoppers wrap Christmas gifts this year, visiting Four Seasons Shopping Centre every day from the 8th to the 24th of December.
Donations will go towards supporting anyone in distress across the local community in Mansfield and District. The charity offers its services around the clock, 24 hours a day, 265 days of the year.
Rebekah O’Neill, Centre Manager at Four Seasons Shopping Centre, said: “It was lovely to have the volunteers at the centre again this Christmas, and we are delighted to hear of the significant amount of money raised for such a fantastic charity and worthy cause. Thank you to all our shoppers who helped raise these funds and we wish them a very Happy New Year.”
Jane Lidster, Director of Mansfield & District Samaritans, said: “It’s always very important that we raise the profile of the Samaritans and the service the charity offers across the local area, but never more so than at christmas when many people desperately need our support.
“We very much value the opportunity Four Seasons Shopping Centre gave us to offer the gift wrapping service, which in return allowed us to raise funds that can really make a difference.
“We would like to personally thank shoppers and hope that everyone had a lovely Christmas.”
