GENERAL ELECTION 2015: Sir Alan Meale retains Mansfield seat

Sir Alan Meale has retained the Mansfield seat for Labour but saw his majority reduced on a disappointing night for the party nationally.

Sir Alan polled 18,603 votes to secure a majority of 5,315. Conservative candidate Andrea Clarke was second on 13,288, UKIP’s Sid Pepper was third with 11,850, Tony Rogers, of the Lib Dems, was fourth with 1,642, the Green Party’s Paul Frost on 1,486 votes was fifth and TUSC candidate Karen Seymour received 324 votes.
