Gardening came to Mansfield town centre at the weekend, and green-fingered shoppers turned up in their thousands.
A marquee was set up on Market Place as an unlikely setting for the Mansfield Garden and Craft Festival, and help bring a typically-village event to the masses.
And there were no fewer than 12,000 people across Saturday and Sunday who came to witness the award-winning produce, the baking competitions and Pleasley Colliery Welfare Band.
Organised by Mansfield BID, manager Sarah Nelson said: “Many thanks to the sponsors, the stallholders, competitors and all who came to the festival, which proved to be a success.
“Once again, Mansfield BID delivers on one of its aims - getting people into the town centre.”
Mansfield District Council’s ward member for the town centre, Coun Brian Lohan said: “I enjoyed it, it was fantastic. In fact, I’d like to see more events come on the Market Place more often. The BID did a good job.”
