FUNDRAISING for tragic Mansfield Woodhouse soldier Ashley Clarkson continues this weekend with a double dose of fun at The White Hart pub.
A barbecue, face painting and other activities are planned at the Church Street pub this Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday, as well as stalls selling wristbands, keyrings, pens, trolley coins and window stickers all in aid of raising awareness of Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
There will be a raffle and auction on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday with items including tickets to see Manchester United, meals for two, a 4x4 off-roading experience, tickets for a cricket match at Trent Bridge, and a signed Mansfield Town shirt. The fun begins at 3pm on both days.
Anyone wanting to made phone bids can contact Caroline at The White Hart on 420742 or 07810 605159.
Ashley, who had suffered from PTSD prior to leaving the Army, was found hanged at home in March. He was just 23.
Ashley’s father, Wayne, said: “The amount of donations has snowballed, we can’t thank the small businesses and pubs of Mansfield enough.”
