YOUNG people in Amber Valley could learn new skills and find a way into employment, thanks to a free Prince’s Trust course starting soon.
The scheme is launching a ‘Team’ 12-week programme on 12th September at Somerlea Park Community Centre, on Sherwood Street, Somercotes.
It is open to young people aged 16 to 25 who are not currently employed or in full-time education.
Those who take part will be able to participate in team building, work placements and team challenges designed to improve employability.
Said course leader, Brian Caulton: “The aim is to promote personal development, team working skills and contribute to the community to help improve the job prospects of young people.”
The free programme is delivered for the Prince’s Trust in Derbyshire through Derby College.
Participants gain nationally recognised qualifications; a City and Guilds certificate in personal development and contributing to the community.
