Shoppers at Mansfield’s Four Seasons Shopping Centre can now do their bit for the Help for Heroes charity.

Four Seasons is calling for all unwanted (but still clean and useable) sports equipment and clothing to be dropped off at a special collection point next to the customer services desk in the shopping centre. The sports items are being collected by the KickStart Youth Football League and will be sold in a special charity shop with all funds being donated to Help for Heroes.

Sports equipment can also be donated on match days at any of the KickStart Youth Football league venues around the town.

Help for Heroes was founded by Bryn and Emma Parry in October 2007 out of a desire to help the wounded Servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq and provides direct, practical support to those injured in the current conflicts.

Centre Manager, Rebekah O’Neill, said: “Most people have spare trainers or unused sports equipment hanging around the house, we are encouraging the people of Mansfield and Ashfield to recycle and raise some money for Help for Heroes at the same time. This charity is close to many people’s hearts locally”

Malc Jones, from KickStart Youth Football League said “There must be so much sports equipment out there that’s not being used, no longer wanted or has simply become too small for its owner! It’s great to be able to get these items back in use and help a worthy cause in the process”.
