VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help run the Mansfield Folkhouse Young People’s Centre ahead of the £6.5m building’s reopening this summer.
The move comes after suggestions from the public on how Nottinghamshire County Council can save money were made during the Big Budget Conversation last year.
Ideas on how to save cash and improve services were gathered from local residents.
County council leader Kay Cutts said: “Many of the suggestions include increasing the use of volunteers to improve our services, which we are pursuing.”
Other suggestions included increasing parking charges at country parks and placing coffee shops in libraries.
The authority agreed a budget last month to save £87m this year.
