Fighting fit at Glapwell

TEENAGERS in Glapwell will be fighting fit thanks to free weekly sessions of Derbyshire Constabulary’s Ozbox.

Officers from the Glapwell Safer Neighbourhood Team have organised the sessions to prevent youngsters in the village becoming involved in anti-social behaviour. The sessions take place on Mondays in Glapwell Community Centre, The Green, from 5.30 to 7.30pm.

Ozbox is a boxing-based fitness programme which combines circuit training and boxing skills to improve confidence, discipline and fitness.

It also helps local officers to build relationships with youngsters and offer them something positive to take part in.

Youngsters from Glapwell and the surrounding villages are welcome to attend.

Anyone wanting to take part must first sign a consent form which is available at Glapwell Community Centre, Doe Lea Centre and New Houghton Community House.

For more information contact PC Tony Bagshaw or PCSO Dave Hancock on the non-emergency number 101.
