TREAT dad and the kids to a Medieval Father’s Day at English Heritage’s ‘Father’s Day Knight School’ at Bolsover Castle on Sunday 19th June.

Members of Derbyshire-based medieval re-enactment group ‘The Order of the Fighting Knights’ will be demonstrating the art of sword combat and running hands-on workshops where children and dads can find out what it takes to become a knight.

Lynsey Coombs, English Heritage visitor operations manager says, “The Father’s Day Knight School is an ideal opportunity for children to join their dads at one of the training sessions.

“Families can also compete in our hobby-horse joust and there’ll be weapons displays, archery talks, and a display of how the real knights do it with clashing swords and shields in a sword tournament.”

Admission is: Adult £7.80, Concession £7.00, Child £4.70, Family £20.30. English Heritage members free.
