IT may still be only November, but ranger Becky Mayo and her colleagues at Sherwood Pines Forest Park are busy preparing for the launch of their annual Christmas trees sales on Sunday.

Christmas trees have been sold from the 3,000-acre beauty spot, near Clipstone, since the mid-70s and this year the Forestry Commission has thousands of fragrant pines, fir and spruce in stock.

Says Becky: “We’ve been running Christmas tree sales in Sherwood Pines for 35 years and for many people a trip into the forest is as much a family Yuletide tradition as turkey and mince pies.”

Tree sales operate daily from 9am-3.30pm on Sunday until Christmas Eve, subject to availability.
