DERBYSHIRE: Roads repairs cash announced

Council bosses will spend £145,000 on road improvements near to Mansfield in July.

Derbyshire County Council has announced that it will spend £100,000 on drainage work on the A632 Main Road, at Langwith.

A further £45,000 will be spent on road resurfacing on the A615 Doehole Lane, at Alfreton, the council said.

The works are part of £911,000 in road repairs and other improvements which the authority plans to carry out across the county in July.

The money is part of a £35 million package Derbyshire County Council will spend on improving the roads in 2014/15.

Roads spokesman Coun Dean Collins said: “We are committed to improving roads and pavements to provide Derbyshire with an efficient transport network which will help to build a strong economy that creates jobs and supports businesses.”
