BOLSOVER District Council is appealing for information after two large containers were dumped earlier this month on two separate occasions.

The two IBC containers were found overnight on Tuesday 9th October at Alexander Terrace, Pinxton, and then a day later, Wednesday 10th October, at Batley Lane, Pleasley.

The containers were both more than half full of what the local authority believes to be line marking paint.

TheEnvironment Agency has taken samples to confirm the council’s suspicions.

A spokesman for the council said: “The first (container) was leaking and very close to the River Erewash.

“It may be that some business has recently paid to dispose of these items – and the person removing has just dumped them.

“Disposal will be very costly.

“If you can can you help us find out who did this, complete our on-line fly-tipping form or telephone 01246 242424
