A world of fantasy and imagination is being brought to life through puppetry at Mansfield’s Create Theatre on Friday.
The Fantasist, performed by award-winning Theatre Témoin, explores the mind of Louise and uses life-size puppetry, created in collaboration with War Horse’s Robin Guiver. It combines object manipulation, physical theatre and original music in a surreal story of a woman battling bipolar disorder.
The Fantasist has seen five-star success at last year’s Edinburgh Fringe and will also be touring live-in mental health centres as part of a drive to use the arts to lift stigma on mental illness.
Theatre Témoin is an international company of artists from Ireland, the UK, France and the US. The company creates pieces which are socially engaging and fun and shine a light on contemporary issues.
Tickets for the performance, which is at 7.30pm, cost £10 and £8 for concessions and can be brought through the box office at www.createtheatre.co.uk.
