CRESCENT Primary School at Mansfield is to re-open on Wednesday after a fire on Sunday in the boiler room forced it to close on Monday and Tuesday.
Fire crews from Mansfield and Ashfield were called to Crescent Primary School, on Booth Crescent, at around 7.20am on Sunday morning after a fire broke out in the boiler room and five tonnes of wood chippings had caught fire.
The school suffered smoke damage and remains closed so that it can be cleaned.
A statement on the school’s website says: “School photographs are cancelled for Wed 31st due to the temporary set up of Dolphins, Tigers & Panthers in the Crescent Centre for the rest of the week. Kangaroos will be in the top hall / library area.”
