Council gets paws on prize

Bolsover District Council has retained the RSPCA ‘Stray Dogs Bronze Footprint’ for providing a good stray dog and animal welfare service.

The Council first received the award in September 2010 and after submitting new and evidence on its working practices and written procedures the RSPCA deemed that the Council should retain the award.

Bolsover District Council Cabinet Member for the Environment, Councillor Dennis Kelly said: “One of the main advantages we offer in addition to the requirements of this bronze award is our dog re-homing register.” “We know people want dogs as pets, so the more people that register with us, the better chance we have of helping them find their perfect pet when a suitable one comes along.”
