A MAN accused of driving a JCB through Church Warsop and causing damage to fields, vehicles and headstones in a cemetery is to appear before Mansfield magistrates today (Monday).

Steven Regan (34), of Colenso Terrace, Leeds, has been charged with theft of the JCB, which is alleged was stolen from Barratt Homes on Sandilands Way in Forest Town.

He also faces charges of dangerous driving, having no insurance and no licence - as well as three counts of criminal damage in relation to the damage to headstones in the cemetery, off Cuckney Hill.

Regan has also been charged with a burglary in which a JCB was stolen from a unit in Leeds earlier in June.

He was arrested on Saturday evening after the incidents in Church Warsop.
