Mansfield District Council’s Citizens Panel is going online and is looking for more people to help drive forward improvements to local services.
The Citizens Panel has been running since 2004, seeking the views of a 1,000 strong sample of residents from the district on a variety of issues, from refuse and recycling collection and anti-social behaviour to town centre facilities and regeneration.
Feedback from panel members is taken into account when developing Council policies and services and has a direct influence when the Council sets out its priorities and plans.
The results of surveys are weighted so that the views expressed truly represent an accurate cross-section of the district’s population.
In the past the surveys have been issued by post, with questionnaires sent out to panel members approximately three times per year. In the future though, the survey will be sent out by email to panel members and will also appear on the Council’s website.
The switch is intended to reduce costs, make the surveys and results accessible to more people and increase the number of people registering their views.
If you live in the Mansfield District and would like to be part of the Citizens Panel, visit the Council’s website at www.mansfield.gov.uk/panelinvite to register. The first electronic survey will be sent out in June this year.
