A FORMAL fundraising dinner will be held at Sookholme’s John Fretwell Centre to mark a year since the death of tragic Warsop war veteran Lee Bonsall.
The 24-year-old was found hanged by his wife at their home in March last year.
Lee’s family believes he was suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder at the time of his death and the Ministry of Defence did not do enough to help him.
On the night of the 20th April fundraiser, as well as a dinner there will be entertainment from a live singer performing hits through the decades for all ages.
An auction will be held with Liverpool and Manchester United football shirts and tables for ten at various John Fretwell tribute act events among the prizes.
Organiser and friend of the Bonsall family, Gemma Blagg, said she was very pleased with tickets take-up - the venue seats about 280 and there were only 25 tickets left.
“Lee’s mum wanted this to be a bit special because it has been a year now,” she said.
The night will opened by Miss Mansfield Alice Kurylo.
Jason Rathbone, of Mansfield ex-servicemen’s charity the Joint Forces Alliance (JFA) will also be there making a speech.
All proceeds from the night will go to the Lee Bonsall Memorial Fund.
