Dancers are being sought for a moving performance looking at South Africa during the apartheid era.
A unique partnership between South African Jazzart Dance Theatre, Dance4 and Lakeside Arts Centre has created the opportunity for participants from the ages of 12 to 25 to take part in a workshop and gripping performance to mark the arrival of Biko’s Quest to the East Midlands.
The performance looks at the life, death and legacy of the inspirational campaigner Steve Biko, who was murdered by security police 36 years ago. Biko’s Quest is a powerful, large cast production which takes the audience on a poignant and emotional journey through danced story-telling.
Participants need to be available on Monday 27th October from 4pm to 7pm and on Tuesday 28th October from 1pm and 7.30pm for rehearsal and performance.
Contact Jim@dance4 or call 0115 9410773 to reserve your place.
