A MANSFIELD Woodhouse man who admitted dealing in cannabis was spared jail after a judge heard he had secured his first ever job.
Nottingham Crown Court was told that a custodial sentence for Jamie Belshaw, of Sherwood Street, would wipe out his employment.
The 21-year-old was arrested on 18th October and found to have 18 wraps of cannabis and digital scales.
He admitted supplying the class B drug and possession with intent to supply.
His barrister Ian Way said he supplied to a small group of friends at a time when he was struggling to fund his own use.
‘Just over three weeks ago he secured his first job ever,’ said Mr Way. Belshaw was sentenced to nine months’ suspended for a year and ordered to do 100 hours unpaid work.
