A welder who broke a curfew to go on a stag do has had his order extended.
James Weir (24) of Sycamore Street, Church Warsop, admitted the breach at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court.
He was convicted of assault last month, and as part of the curfew order, he had to be at home from 9pm and 5am each day.
Less than four days later, he was found to have not returned home.
As a result of the court case, Weir said he had lost his job as a mig welder.
Representing himself, he told the magistrates : “It was cheaper to get a hotel than a taxi so I accept full responsibility.”
Extending the order, the magistrates said: “If you do not comply with his curfew we will have to look at other things, and you don’t want to go down that route.”
